Part-scholarships for September 2025
A generous donor has made available three part-scholarships for our taught programmes beginning in September 2025. If you are an evangelical Christian committed to pursue a vocation in the United Kingdom / Republic of Ireland, either in full-time church or para-church leadership, or in evangelical scholarship and research, you may be considered* for one of these scholarships.
Grants are for £3,300 per year for full-time study (applicable to MA and MTh), and £1,650 per year for part-time study (applicable to MA, GDip and MTh), and applicants must be able to pay the remaining amount of fees each year after the scholarship has been applied.
Please note: candidates are only eligible for these part-scholarships if they are currently, or can evidence that they will be, working in the UK or Republic of Ireland during their course of studies or directly upon completion of their programme. Applicants not meeting these criteria will not be considered for these part-scholarships, but their application to study with UST will still be processed on the assumption that they will be able to pay their tuition fees by private means.
Current students may apply, but scholarships will only cover their current and future years of study, and cannot be applied retrospectively.
Part-scholarship criteria overview:
Seeking your first theological degree as preparation for subsequent full-time Christian service.
Seriously committed to pursue a vocation in the United Kingdom / Republic of Ireland, either in full-time church or para-church leadership, or in evangelical scholarship and research, and able to give evidence for this.
You will need to submit an application for one of UST’s programmes to be considered for this part-scholarship, including a detailed letter of application outlining how you meet the above criteria in the Supporting Documents section of your UST application form. (If you are a current UST student, please email your application letter to programmes@ust.ac.uk.)
If offered a place on your chosen programme by UST and shortlisted* as a suitable part-scholarship applicant, you will then be invited to complete a scholarship application with the donor, which will include providing references.
Please note: an offer to study on your chosen programme with UST does not guarantee successful application for the part-scholarship, which is at the discretion of the scholarship provider.
*UST will shortlist 3 scholarship candidates who have been offered a place on one of our programmes to put forward to the scholarship provider, based on the criteria given above and any details given throughout the UST application process that would provide evidence of the applicant meeting the criteria. UST’s decision on which candidates to nominate for a scholarship will be final. Shortlisted applicants will be notified after the UST deadline listed, and invited to apply to the scholarship provider by the date given below.
The deadline for scholarship applicants to apply for a UST programme is Friday 9th May 2025. Shortlisted candidates will then be asked to complete a scholarship application form for the donor, complete with any supporting documentation requested, by Friday 20th June 2025.

Women In Ministry - GDip match-funding scholarships for September 2025 enrolment
Union is offering three half-scholarships specifically for female students enrolling on our Graduate Diploma programme from September 2025. There are no geographical restrictions on this scholarship.
Please note: these half-scholarships are only available to female applicants who successfully apply for and enrol on Union’s GDip programme, and are not available to current students. Applicants not meeting these criteria will not be considered for these half-scholarships.
These match-funding scholarships will cover half of the tuition fees for our GDip programme for each year of study (at either an in-person or online Learning Community), and applicants must be able to pay the remaining half of their tuition fees each year after the scholarship has been applied, including any increases in fees that may incur over their course of study. Applicants will also need to cover additional costs such as the Digital Services Charge and any costs associated with their studies, including resources and any visits to the Ministry Centre.

You will need to submit an application for UST’s Graduate Diploma programme to be considered for this half-scholarship, including a detailed letter of application outlining your current involvement in ministry (formal or informal) and what you hope to gain from your studies, in the Supporting Documents section of your UST application form.
UST will select 3 female half-scholarship candidates who have been offered a place on the GDip, based on their letter of application and any details given throughout the UST application process that would provide evidence of the applicant meeting the criteria. Decisions will be influenced by your ministry plans, and information provided on financial resources (including country of residence). UST’s decision on which candidates are granted a half-scholarship will be final.
Please note: an offer to study on the GDip does not guarantee successful application for these half-scholarships. You may be offered a place to study on the programme before the scholarship awards are made, in which case you can choose to accept your offer (you may withdraw your acceptance at a later date if you are reliant on, but not awarded, a half-scholarship), or you can choose to wait until you are notified about your scholarship application before accepting.
The deadline for scholarship applicants to apply for the GDip programme, including their letter of application for a half-scholarship, is Thursday 1st May 2025. Applicants will be notified about their scholarship application by Thursday 15th May 2025.
